Choose Your Calibration Level
We understand that every quality program has unique requirements. We put you in control by offering two distinct tiers of NIST-traceable calibration for your particle equipment.
Simply select the reporting level that matches your compliance needs:
- Standard NIST Traceable (As Left) Ideal for routine compliance verification. This service ensures your equipment is returned to you fully calibrated to manufacturer specifications, complete with a NIST-traceable certificate of the final ("As Left") results.
- NIST with Data (As Found & As Left) Recommended for clients requiring a detailed performance history. This option includes a comprehensive data report documenting the instrument's reading immediately upon arrival ("As Found") as well as its final calibrated status ("As Left"). This data is critical for tracking instrument drift and stability over time.
Please Note: While CIH Equipment offers ISO 17025:2017 accreditation for many of our other equipment categories, this specific standard is not currently an option for our Particle Lab services.
Why this structure works:
- Clarity: It immediately separates the options into a "Standard" vs. "Comprehensive" choice.
- Terminology: It incorporates the industry terms (As Found/As Left) but explains them in plain English so the customer understands the value difference.
- Transparency: It handles the ISO 17025:2017 exclusion honestly but separates it from the main list so customers don't try to order a service that isn't available.

Standard particle calibration used to be inconsistent. Different manufacturers used different methods. That led to data that did not match up. This created major issues for pharmaceutical companies and electronics manufacturers who need precise counts.
If your flow rate is off, your volume calculation is wrong. If your volume is wrong, your concentration data is useless.
//
We focus on transparency. When you get your calibration certificates, you see the data.
This proof is exactly what auditors want to see when they visit your facility.
We make the complex task of validation simple for you.
//
We serve clients across the United States. You can ship your instruments calibrated to our lab, and we turn them around quickly.
Many facilities rely on a particle counter to monitor air quality daily. When you send that unit to us, we treat it with care.
We do not just stick a label on it. We test it. If it drifts, we adjust it. If you break it, we also offer calibration repair to get it back in working order.
//
Why is counting efficiency important?
Counting efficiency confirms your sensor detects small particles accurately. The standard requires the unit to count 50% of particles at the minimum sensitivity size and 100% of particles at 1.5 to 2 times that size.
What does NIST traceable mean?
NIST traceable means your calibration results link back to standards maintained by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. This chain of custody proves your measurements are accurate and accepted globally.
Do you offer repair services?
Unlike many labs that only calibrate, we provide calibration repair. If your instrument fails a test or has a broken component, we can often fix it right here to save you time.
What is Pulse Height Analysis?
Pulse Height Analysis (PHA) is a technique used to measure the electrical pulses generated by particles passing through the laser. It correlates the height of the pulse to the size of the particle, allowing for accurate sizing.
